Excessive population growth and environmental pollution
World population has increased from 500 millions to 6 billions in the last 350 years and keeps increasing 97 million annually. If the population keeps growing in the present rate, in the next 41 years, the population will double itself.
Still, 1 billion of 6 billion people live in developed countries. Over growth of population causes a lack of resources in the developed countries and creates economic and social problems. Pressure on scarse resources is increasing, some species disappearing, demand of humans is exceeding the amount of existing resources, this imbalance is creating a danger for all the living things including us, the humans.
Not only the natural resources are running out, many other environmental problems are coming out such as depletion of ozone layer, increase of carbon emissions, acid rains, loss of bio-diversity, deforestation, desertification.
For all these negatives to be swept away and leave the next generations a livable world, sustainable development priniciples has to be improved and implemented.
